Hassan (2014)
Aunty Patricia's School is a non-profit primary school in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Jon worked on a project to assist Aunty Patricia’s School in securing funding for the construction of secondary school structure, as well as, a student latrine for the female students. This was done primarily through visual content production, crowdfunding campaigns and the creation of a school website. The work raised over 4000 dollars in funding for the school and helped create a website and a media library for the school to use in their future fundraising endeavors.
As a part of the project, Jon created a short documentary film about a student from Aunty Patricia's School, "Hassan" (2014), which documents the perseverance of a young boy while highlighting the ways the school is making a difference in the local community.
'Hassan' also won 3rd place at the 2014 My Hero International Film Festival in the College Documentary category.
